Burr Elm Bowl

Made from a beautiful piece of Burr Elm this bowl proved a bit difficult to fashion as it had several issues to address during the turning. A common problem with Burr Elm are inclusions and this was no exception, as a fairly large one required resin to stabilise. The effect however is very unusual. There were also several cracks in the wood that also required attention. All in all turned out well.
The bowl measures 7 inches 18 cms in diameter and is over 4inches / 10cms high.
It is finished with Chestnut clear Wood Wax 22.
